James E. (Jim) Redeker

Two Rivers - James E. (Jim) Redeker, age 81, lifelong resident of Two Rivers, died peacefully at the Aurora Medical Center after a brief illness, Tuesday morning, March 23, 2021, with family at his side.

Jim was born in Two Rivers on June 25, 1939, to Arvin and Mildred (Landt) Redeker. He attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1957. On April 19, 1958, he was united in marriage to Ellen M. Steinhauer at St. John's Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with two sons and 61 years of marriage. Ellen preceded him in death on April 21, 2019. Jim worked as an over-the-road semi driver for many years until his retirement. He also started Redeker Sandblasting in 1972, which was later taken over by his son, Mike; and in the early 80's he opened the Country Satellite Business which he owned & operated until retiring. Jim also enjoyed raising and showing Appaloosa Horses for many years on his hobby farm. He and Ellen were longtime members of the Branch River Riders and the Bit & Spur Riding Club. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed fishing with friends on his boat on Lake Michigan; and enjoyed deer hunting locally and many hunting trips out West. He was a longtime member of the Manitowoc County Fish & Game Association, earning a lifetime achievement award; he was one of the founding members of the Two Rivers Fish & Game Chapter; and was a member of the town of Two Rivers Volunteer Firefighters for many years. Jim enjoyed working the land around his farm, gardening, and especially the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim is survived by two sons & a daughter-in-law; Michael Redeker of Kellnersville, Rick and Rita Redeker of Two Rivers; two grandchildren: Dani (Adam) Leggett, and Craig (Mandy) Redeker; and four great-grandchildren: Maisy and Mattie Leggett, Aubrey and Andie Redeker. He is further survived by one brother, Ronald (Pat) Redeker of Green Bay; one sister, Shirley Lesperance of Two Rivers; brother-in-law & sisters-in-law: Donald and Lillian Steinhauer, Marion Prust, and Shirley Steinhauer, all of Two Rivers; and Carol Valinski of Appleton (special friend, Oren Kaminski); along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvin and Mildred Redeker; his wife, Ellen; father & mother-in-law, Herbert and Esther Steinhauer; brother-in-law, Dwight Lesperance; sister-in-law, Sharon Redeker; and other in-laws: Maynard "Muzzy" Prust, Richard "Dick" Steinhauer, Dorothy Gooding Everett, and George Gooding, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers. Rev. Stephen Kruschel will officiate at the service, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Friday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Due to the current pandemic, social distance guidelines will be followed.
