Funeral services for James Russell Gaston will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at First Baptist Church West Chapel in Minden, Louisiana. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Gilley. Interment will be immediately following the service at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Russell was born on May 23, 1953 in Cleburne, Texas. He entered into rest on March 23, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents James and Patsy Marsh Gaston and his siter Rhonda Gaston Edwards. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Vicky Elmore Gaston; sons Brandon Gaston and wife Allison of Sibley, Rick Whitehead and wife Crystal of Minden, and Brady Gaston and wife Heather of Minden; brother Ross Gaston and wife Kay of Grandview, Texas; sisters, Tis Gaston and Mike of Brenham, Texas, and Robin Gaston Merkel and husband Ricky of Hillsboro, Texas; and grandchildren Lane Dillon, Braydon Gaston, Madelyn Whitehead, Rita Dillon, Carson Whitehead, Dawson Gaston, John William Whitehead, Brianna Gaston, and Ryland Gaston; and numerous relatives and friends.
The family extends a special thanks to Jay Fussell and the St. Joseph's Hospice Carpenter House of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be Justin Greer, Brandon Greer, Scotty Greer, Braydon Gaston, Blake Gibson, and Evan Gibson.
