Mary A. McDowell, 85, of Willseyville, NY, went to rest in the Lord's arms on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. She was born in Owego, NY on July 22, 1935, the daughter of the late David F. and Irene (Merritt) McDowell. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert McDowell Sr., her sister, Jean Kellam, and her brother, George Merritt Truesdail. She is survived by her children, Charles McDowell, Herbert Jr. (Helena) McDowell, Elizabeth James, Mitzy (Kevin) Benjamin, and Patricia (Robin) Linaberry; grandchildren, Ryan McDowell, Abby Fitch, Andrew McDowell, Matthew McDowell, Nicholas James, Douglas James, Kristin Myers, Bradley Benjamin, Brock Benjamin, Bryant Benjamin, Whitney Soltis, Christopher Linaberry, Mathaius VanZile and Mason McDowell, as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mary was Treasurer of the Owego Chapter of Women's Aglow, where she was a very cherished longtime member.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public services. For family and friends, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. A special thank you to her Church Sisters and Brothers from Haven of Rest Ministries and The Sword and the Spirit Ministries in Owego. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either organization
