In honor of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Joan C. St. John, we, her 5 Saints; Jean, Charlene, Britt, Ken, Chris, and our sister Beth Tomanelli, her niece, Lisa Van Iersal; their spouses and partners along with Joan's husband, Nelson L. Hoffman, Jr, with great sadness would like to share her peaceful passing on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

After a long life enjoying her books, chocolate cake, hot cocoa and her family, Joan passed away on St. Patrick's Day joining her mother, Agnes; father, William and aunts Benedicta and Anna Carolan in heaven. A private family service will be held at the Woodstock Artist Cemetery at a later date so that she may rest peacefully with her Irish Catholic ancestors.

We will all remember her fondly for her great story telling, radiant smile, passion for reading, love of animals, her knack for making friends wherever she went and her loving family. Joan was a well- loved waitress at Miss Mary's and Steffie's Little Hungary in Woodstock during the town's hayday.

May she rest in peace eternally upon the gentle hearth of the universe.
