Rudolph V. Avila, 94, soul entered heaven on February 9, 2017. He was born August 8, 1922, in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Yuma, AZ a few weeks after birth.

Uncle as he was affectionately known lived in Yuma, attending schools and working in the laundry industry. He was a devout Catholic, great fan of movies, and chocolate.

Uncle is survived by his sister Ramona Petersen, nieces and nephews; Victoria (Francisco) Morga, James D. (Susan) Green, Julia (Fred) Valdez, Teresa (Mike) McAdam, Brad Petersen, Pam Taylor, Annie (Bruce) Wyatt, and Peter Stevens. He is also survived by numerous grand nieces and nephews. Uncle was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Adela Avila, sisters Gloria "Edna" Green, Mary Louise Stevens, and Olga Avila.

Funeral Mass will be held Friday February 17, 2017 at St. Francis Church at 10:30am. Officiating will be Father Emilio Chapa. His final resting place will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank all of his caregivers especially his niece Victoria Morga. In lieu of flowers make donations to Hospice of Yuma.
