Sara Mabe Johnson, 89, of Bluefield, VA, formerly of Bluewell, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at her home.

Born on March 29, 1931 in Montcalm, she was a daughter of the late Harry Totz Mabe Sr. and Nettie Alice Surface Mabe. She was the last charter member of the Bluewell United Methodist Church and was retired with 40 years from General Telephone Company.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence H. "Snooky" Johnson; sisters, Billie Jean Bentley and Mary Lee Ayers; and a brother, Harry Totz "Sonny" Mabe, Jr. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Beth (Lawrence) Price of Bluefield, VA; grandson, Justin L. Price of Bluefield, VA; sister in law, Barbara Mabe of Port Orange, FL; nieces, Brenda Gail Ayers of Richlands, VA, Kelly Suzanne Smith of Sorrento, FL and Deborah L. Webb of Bluefield, WV; nephews, William Max Jacobsen of Lincolnshire, IL, Harry Alan Bentley of Orlando, FL, Brian Keith Mabe of Port Orange, FL and Todd Johnson of Cornelius, NC.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Melissa White officiating.

Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell.

Friends may call prior to services on Friday, from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bluewell United Methodist Church in Bluewell, 228 Warden Avenue, Bluefield, WV 24701 or Legacy Hospice, 1963 Second Street, Richlands, VA 24641.
