Galesburg, IL - Eileen H. Barton, 78, of 731 E. North St. died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at Rosewood Care Center of Galesburg.
Born May 23, 1920, in Kewanee to Clarence M. and Zelma L. Peck Richards, she married Forrest Barton on Feb. 15, 1942, in Galesburg. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Kirk of Rochester, Fred of Tucson, Ariz., and Bruce of Charlotte, Tenn.; three daughters, Mrs. David (Pam) White of Moline, Mrs. Jim (Dianne) Basso of Asuncion, Paraguay, and Mrs. Don (Karen) Wood of Hong Kong; eight grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Richards of Fulton; and one sister, Mrs. Dale (June) Bashor of Billings, Mont.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
A graduate of Brown's Business College, she worked for a few years as a bookkeeper for the former Farrell & Mears Clothing Store, last working in 1942. She was a former president of Elkettes Post 894 and also the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2301 Auxiliary in Monmouth.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Oneida Cemetery in Oneida.
