Somerset - Maxine Garrett, a resident of the Franklin Township section of Somerset for over 55 years, transitioned on March 21, 2021 in New Brunswick, NJ. Born in Newark, NJ on May 27, 1938, she was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and survived by her husband of over 60 years Freddie Garrett Sr. Maxine worked serving others at the Woodbridge Development Center and was a part time lunch aide with the Franklin Township school system. She is best remembered as fun loving and always throwing a party or hosting annual family events of a 100+ attendees, right in her own backyard. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Freddie Garrett of Somerset, Alan Garrett of North Brunswick, Hallie Garrett of Delaware, Lavilla Thompson of Virginia and LaTonnia Garrett of South Amboy. Ten grandchildren living in PA, NJ, FL, DE, HI, and GA and several great-grandchildren.
The family has decided to have a private memorial to celebrate a life well lived!
