Mrs. Lula Mae Smith, 90, passed away in her home on Saturday, February 27, 2021. She was born to the late James Floyd Blount Sr. and Mary Ward Blount on April 17, 1930 in Tobermory, NC.

Lula Mae was the wife of the late William Nash Smith Sr. and a homemaker for many years. She had many friends and family members whom she loved dearly. Lula Mae will forever be remembered for her numerous and lengthy telephone conversations and good cooking.

Along with her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by two sons, William Nash Smith Jr. and Danny Smith; two brothers, William Floyd Blount and Joe Blount; three sisters, Elizabeth Clark, Mary Anne Blount, and Annie Ruth Britt.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Smith of the home; a brother, James Floyd Blount Jr of Hope Mills NC; a sister, Nyoka Kersey of Parkton NC; a grandson, Roger Smith and wife Torva of Winston Salem NC; and three great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM at LaFayette Funeral Home 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304 with Rev. James Blount officiating. A private Interment will be conducted at a later date.
