Mr. Davis was born on May 21, 1949 in Barwick, GA to the late Bernard Merle Davis, Sr. and the late Mary Ann Brison Davis.
On May 17, 1969, he married Gail Scarlet Jones Davis, who survives. They were married 51 years and 10 months.
Mr. Davis worked for most of his life as a truck driver, hauling fuel for Chastain-Clark, Sing Oil, Associated Petroleum Carriers (APC), Kenan Transport, Turner Transport, and Florida Rock & Tank Lines. He shared so many amazing stories of experiences he had while on the road. He worked later on as a driver for Price Point Car Sales. He loved the Lord and church with all his heart and was of the Baptist faith. He served many years as a church bus driver and in any capacity he could.
Mr. Davis fiercely loved his family and his 17 year old kitty Callie.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Davis, daughter, Janet Davis Wilfred, son Bernard "Bernie" Davis, III, daughter-in-law Liz Lawson Davis, all of Thomasville.
He was Pa to his grandchildren, which include Melody and Nathan Stephens, Cassidy and Cisco Hernandez, Jessica Davis, Bethany and Raymond Draughn, Jeffry Davis, and Brook Davis. His great-grandchildren include Addie, Jaycee, and Gracie Bruce, Enrique and Micayla Hernandez, and Elisabeth and Caleb Stephens.
His siblings include Hiram "Bubba" and the late Lou Davis of Thomasville and John and Vicky Davis of Thomson, GA. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and other beloved family members. He was also Pa to many extended family members.
The family wishes to thank all the wonderful providers for Daddy/Pa over the years, especially Archbold Memorial Hospital, Dr. Dale Wing and Dr. Christopher Daniels and their staffs, Archbold Home Health, Brooks County Hospital, and Archbold Hospice, especially Ashley Lindquist, who compassionately cared for us all as he got ready to go Home.
