Robert E. Pike, 86, of Kasson, MN passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, MN.

Robert was born on October 21, 1934 in New Haven township, MN to Harold and Irene (Jedike) Pike. He met the love of his life, Barbara Knutson while she was still in high school in Zumbrota, Minnesota. They married on December 15, 1955 and enjoyed one-day short of 65 years faithfully together. He worked at IBM as an assembly man on the A-frame computer manufacturing line in 1956. He retired from IBM in 1991 and then was hired back as a parts expeditor. He served as a police officer for the City of Kasson and worked with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department.

Bob loved his community. He was a member of the K-M Lions Club. During his service with the Lions club, he volunteered many hours as tail twister, delivering food and gifts to those in need, building a Gazebo at the Kasson park, and grilling bratwurst at Marigold Days. He received the Helen Keller Sight Award from the Lions. He was also a volunteer driver for DAV.

Bob loved attending and cheering on all of the athletes at every Komets football, wrestling, basketball, softball, and volleyball games. He is on the Kasson-Mantorville Athletic Hall of Fame. He also loved hunting, fishing, and being with his good friends and family. He was never happier than when he was on the lake, patiently in search of Walleye. He looked forward to going on bus trips with his wife Barb and their friends. He was a devoted member to St. John’s Lutheran Church. He served as head usher for over 25 years. He will be deeply missed.

Bob is survived by his children, Terry (Twila) Pike of Columbus, OH, Angela (Robert) Parker of St. Louis Park, MN, and Tim Pike of Pine Island, MN; grandchildren, Tarah Pike, Tyler Pike, Cindy McWright, and James Parker; three great grandchildren, Lilyah Parker, Davi McWright, and Carmen McWright; brothers, Harry Pike of Pine Island, MN and Bill Pike of Byron, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barb; and brothers, Elden and Gerald Pike.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th Street SE in Kasson, MN. A memorial Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Nirmala Reinschmidt officiating. Burial will be in Lands Lutheran Cemetery in Zumbrota, MN.
