Rita passed away at Grand River Hospital surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 29, 2014, five days before her 95 birthday. She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her children Dianne (Len) Flood, Wayne (Lynn), Sandra (Keith) Messham, Darlene Burgetz and Gary. Special grandmother of Christine Will, Sharon Burns, Mark Flood; Dayna and Julie Karges; Ben Messham, Amy Healy, Jessica Messham; Cathie McClennan and Dan and Jim Burgetz. Loved receiving visits from her great-grandchildren Jack Burns, Daniel Karges, Colwyn and Avery Messham, Sarah and Michael McClennan, Kaela, Jayden and Joshua Burgetz. Survived by her brothers Wib and Carl Voll.

Now reunited with her husband George (1999) and son-in-law Allan Burgetz (1978). Predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Kraft, Bernice White, Gladys Voisin, Ollie Pfeffer, and brother Gerald Voll.

Special thanks to Dr. Stephen Nantes and Linda Todd for their years of special care. Thanks also to Mary of Forest Hill Hairstyling for rising early each Saturday to do her hair.

Rita enjoyed playing cribbage and cards and attending LA Fitness. Thanks to Susan Gerth and ladies for years of friendship and workouts. She also enjoyed participating in the Seniors Program at the Downtown Community Centre. Thanks to the staff there and those at the respite program at Sunnyside Seniors Home.

Rita was a long time member of St. Francis Catholic Women's League and prayer network.

Rita's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. (519) 749-8467. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 49 Blueridge Ave., on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11am. Reception to follow in the church hall. Cremation has taken place.
