Van Douglas (Lucy) Johnson, age 69 of Pineville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 22, 2021. Van was born in Bell County, Kentucky to Mossie Bullet Johnson and Charlie (Green Eyes) Johnson on September 11, 1951. He was a humble man who was truly loved by all that knew him. Van spent a big part of his life hauling coal, which he enjoyed greatly. He believed in hard work and was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved his family, camping, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brothers, Charlie Johnson Jr. and Cork Johnson; and sisters, Geraldine Christopher, Mick Patterson, Bobbie Johnson and Gerry Lynn Johnson.

Van is survived by his loving wife Martine Blevins Johnson; his sons, Danny Johnson and wife, Heather Johnson, Van Johnson Jr. and wife, Mary Johnson, Paul Johnson and wife, Elizabeth Johnson, and Joshua Johnson and fiancé, Emily Saylor; grandchildren, April, Savannah, Brittany, and Matthew; brothers, James Johnson and wife Sharon Johnson, Freddie Johnson and wife Irene Johnson, Ricky Johnson and wife Angel; sisters, Penny Ray and husband, James Ray, Charlotte Johnson, and Donnie Perry; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family that will miss him dearly.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the pallbearers for ensuring Van is carried to his final resting place with love.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie Johnson and Rev. Harold Johnson presiding. Burial will follow at the Johnson Family Cemetery in Straight Creek. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Johnson family. Light a candle of remembrance and sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
