Again the death angel has visited our home and hath taken from us our dear father, Jesse R. Heifner, who died August 6, at his home northeast of Ashland, where he has lived for 34 years. Mr. Heifner was well and favorably known. As a citizen he was law-abiding, unselfish, honest and helpful. In the home he was a devoted husband and father, showing a great interest in his family. The memory of a loving father will live forever in the hearts and minds of the bereaved loved ones. He is gone but not forgotten. Mr. Heifner was a son of John and Margaret Heifner and was born in Ashland County, February 12, 1848. He was aged 66 years, 5 months and 24 days. In 1874 he was married to Mary Elizabeth Good who preceded him in death in November, 1910. To them were born seven children. When but a boy he united with the Reformed church at Polk. All was done that loving hearts and skillful medical attention could do since Dec. 25, 1913, but to no avail. The last seven weeks his suffering was almost unbearable. He often prayed for his Father in Heaven to take him home.
Those who are left to mourn his loss are his seven children, twelve grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, and a host of friends. The children are, Mrs. James Hamman, of Lorain; Purley Heifner, of Orrville; Mrs. Robert Campbell, Nova; Mrs. Andrew Sponsler, Mrs. Carlos Stahl, Bia Heifner, of Ashland and Mrs. Neal Hartman, who lived with her father.
