As a young man he moved from Campbell County, TN to Detroit, MI and pursued a career in the automotive industry. Harold later moved to Garrettsville, OH where he and his wife raised three daughters. He retired from Chrysler Corporation and returned to his birth state of Tennessee.
Harold loved his family, having a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. He also loved his church and friends. He was a member of Bells Campground Baptist Church. Harold loved to garden, giving most of his produce and flowers away to family and friends. He spent many days fishing with his grandsons, brothers, brothers-in-law, and sons-in-law.
Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife, Christine Cox; son-in-law, Kenneth Sturm; parents, Floyd and Josie Cox; siblings, Lawrence Cox, Odevah Cox, Geneva Cooper, Arvil Cox, Arnold Cox, and Della Ward.
He is survived by daughters, Cynthia (Ken) Furl of Clarkesville, GA; Gail Sturm of Gainesville, GA, Debbie (Bob) Norris of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Chris (Bonnie) Furl, Lisa (Tim) Nalbach, Kevin (Jessica) Sturm, Kurtis (Heather) Sturm, Meredith (Zack) Spears, Robert Norris; great grandchildren, Hunter Furl, Zoe, Jocelyn, and Jillian Nalbach, Mollie, Macie, Konner, Luke and Marissa Sturm, Eloise Spears; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their exceptional care.
Graveside service to take place Saturday, March 27th at 11:00 am meeting at Campbell Memorial Gardens at 10:45 am with Rev. Ken Furl officiating.
