Jesse Lee Bennett, 64 of Java, Va. passed away on March 22, 2021 at SOVAH, Danville. Born August 8, 1956 in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of James Cutter Bennett and Willie Alease Mitchell Bennett. He was also preceded in death by his son, Christopher Tyrone Bennett.
He was a trucker driver and a member of the Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Bennett; his children, Camesha Baig, Kenneth Blackstock, Sean Blackstock, Lisa Blackstock, Justin Calloway and Taneka Stephens; three brothers, Billy Davis (Josephine), Willie James Bennett and John Wayne Bennett (Samantha); six sisters, Mae Frances Dixon, Ruby Wilson, Louberta Petty, Patricia Doby (Darrell), Gloria Bennett and Lucy Long; a goddaughter, Roasia Hood; eleven grandchildren; a host of other relatives.
Burial will be in Calloway Level Church Cemetery.
