Evelyn Janice Allen, 86, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at her home; with family by her side. She was born January 14, 1935 in Thurston, NE, the daughter of Seth Thomas Blanchard and Mabel Emma (Wilson) Allen.
Evelyn graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1953 and from Cosmetology school in Topeka. She was owner and operator of Evelyn's Hair and Skin in Valley Falls for many years. She also had worked as a secretary for Knox Supply in Topeka.
Evelyn married Harold Raymond Allen on January 17, 1953 in Valley Falls. They celebrated over 62 years of marriage before his passing on February 26 2016.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jody Allen; a great-granddaughter, Grace Stein; 3 sisters, Doris Moore, June Brown and Patsy Frommer and 7 brothers, John, Don, Dick, Lloyd, Harold, Tom and Roy Allen. ...
