Albert H. McPeak, 69, Port Orchard, died Sunday at
Harrison Memorial Hospital [Bremerton].
He was born Dec. 22, 1903, in Gamaliel, Ky., and came to Port Orchard in 1943 from California. He was a construction worker until his 1969 retirement.
Survivors include wife Ida of the home; sons, Kenneth of Vashon Island [King County], Paul and Joseph of Port Orchard; daughters, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Welsh of Port Orchard, Mrs. Richard (Louise) Steinmetz of Virginia Beach,
VA,; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers Roby of Burkesville, Va., and Omer of Fountain Run, Ky.; sister Mrs. Oshie Sikes of Durham Springs, Ky.

The following is his son's obit:
Paul F. McPeak, 64, a resident of Port Orchard, died peacefully at home in the presence of loved ones on Saturday, May 23, 2009 after a long bout with cancer. He was born in Farmington, New Mexico on September 30, 1944 to Albert and Ida (Dyer) McPeak. He was preceded by a brother, Ken McPeak.

Paul served in the United States Marines from 1964 to 1971 attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran. After his military time, he worked as a truck driver in heavy construction, farm hand and mechanic with Farmer George's Meats in Port Orchard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and gaming at the local casinos.

He is survived by sons: Paul, Jr., Rick and Mike McPeak all of Port Orchard; brother Joe McPeak of Indiana and Mary (Bob) Welch of Port Orchard; four grandchildren Natasha, Brianna, Anthony and Evan McPeak and one great-grandson and best friend of 57 years Chuck Zeiler.

A memorial service will be held at the family home in Port Orchard on Sunday, May 31st at noon. Services are under the direction of Rill's Life Tribute Center.
