Michael Owen Andrews, 71, of Granger, died Friday March 19, 2021. He was born in Bremen on July 14, 1949, the son of (the late) Owen L. and Jean (Zentz) Andrews. Mike served his country proudly in the US Marine Corps. during the Vietnam Conflict and was a Purple Heart recipient; he was a member of the American Legion Post #308. On July 14, 1990, he married Barbara K. (Speer) Andrews in Elkhart; she survives after 30 years of marriage. Mike retired as a foreman at Pierce Plastics, and he enjoyed retirement, spending time and having fun with his family & friends, working around his yard or playing cards. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed Notre Dame football & basketball; IU basketball, especially during the Bobby Knight years and the Chicago Cubs, but particularly enjoyed attending his nieces & nephews’ games and events. In addition to his parents, Mike was also preceded in death by his brother, Mark Andrews in 2007. His wife Barb survives along with a daughter, Kathryn (Mark) Koch of Wichita Falls TX; brother, Scott Andrews of Elkhart; sisters, Cathy Andrews and Debbie (Steven) Taylor, both of Elkhart; grandchildren, Tyler Koch of Wichita Falls, Hannah (Ryan) Ewers of Goldsboro NC and a great-grandchild, Jameson Ewers. Private family services will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements through Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart.
