John was born in Santa Fe on April 9, 1959 to Inez and Minnie Alice Catanach Ortiz and he passed away in his home on March 19, 2021, surrounded by his loving family after battling with cancer.
John was preceded in death by his loving parents; brother Paul Ortiz; sister: Alice Ortiz-Gee.
He is survived by his loving wife: Felipita Ortiz; son Jeremy Ortiz; brothers: Leroy and wife Irene, Richard and wife Shirley, Patrick and wife Dolores; sister-in-law: Jo Ann Stith and husband Tom; brother-in-law: Pat Griego, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
John was a loving, caring, and devoted husband and father. A lifelong Cowboys, Yankees, and Lakers fan, he loved watching the games with his son and enjoyed Baskin Robbins dates with his wife, He will be sorely missed by his family and people that knew him.
