Carla Naomi Hill
February 28, 1932 - March 17, 2021

Carla Naomi Hill (nee Hill), 89, of Leonardtown, Maryland went home to be with our Lord on March 17, 2021.

Carla was born on February 18, 1932 in Washington, D.C. Her loving parents were Chester Ambrose and Gladys Lee Hill (nee Baltimore).

During her childhood in Northwest Washington D.C. Carla attended the Sacred Heart School and went on to graduate from the Washington School for Secretaries (currently Strayer College). Her family enjoyed visiting relatives and friends in St. Mary’s County, Maryland as well as in Charlottesville, Virginia.

On December 1, 1951, she married Leonard Woodrow Hill, and they made their first home in Rosecroft, Maryland. They lived in several places in St. Mary’s County until the 1960’s when they moved to neighboring Calvert County, Maryland. Carla enjoyed being a homemaker, citing her greatest life accomplishment as being a mother. Carla and Woodrow “Woody” retired to Palm Bay, Florida in 1993, though finally returning to live in Leonardtown, Maryland in 2017. Carla enjoyed gardening, especially growing beautiful flowers, reading, painting, bird watching, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Carla is survived by her three devoted children: Beverly Ann Wooten (Greg) of Kenya, Africa, Ronald Edward Hill (Jan) of Sunderland, MD and Richard Kevin Hill (Crystal) of St. Leonard, MD, her eight grandchildren: Isaac, Ahava, Kezia, Tehila and Isreal Wootton, Kellee Lucas, Alana Hill, and Arika Hill. In addition, there are 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Carla also had many loving in-laws, who she considered as brothers and sisters. With this extended family, she had numerous nieces and nephews.

Carla was preceded in death by both of her parents, her younger sister Paula Ritchley, and her husband of 68 years, Woodrow, and her infant son David Leonard Hill. Finally, she will also be in heaven with her grandson Isaiah Wootton. She definitely left this world for a better place.
