Abney--Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock this morning from the undertaking parlors of B. Marion Reed over the remains of Dr. H.C. Abney, who died at his home at Port Tampa City Wednesday noon after a prolonged illness. The services will be conducted by Rev. W.C. fountain, pastor of the Methodist Church at Port Tampa City, and interment will be made in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The deceased had been a resident of this section many years and leaves the following relatives: Mrs. W.F. Caruthers, Mrs. W.R, Meisner and Mrs. S.C. Smith, daughters, the later residing at Poplarville, Miss. and H.C, Abney, Jr. and W.H. Abney, sons.

Henry Clay was a Pvt. in Company K, 37th Regiment, Mississippi Infantry, Lt.(Medical) in Clayton's Company.

His unmarried son, Henry C. Abney, Jr. should be close by...1876-1966. Also, his two daughters, Sarah Ann Abney Meisner, 1878-1958 as well as Mary Alena Abney Nichols, 1881-1967.

Dr. Henry Abney moved to Port Tampa, FL from Pearl River County, MS after his wife & parents had died. The three children above moved with him.
