Lynn Dell Davis, 65, passed away at his residence in Ft. Worth, Texas, on February 14, 2021, among loving family members and devoted friends. Burial will be at Session Cemetery.
Lynn Dell (JC) was born on January 1, 1956, in Wortham, Texas, to the late Lee Arnold Davis Sr. and Maggie Mae Johnson Davis. He graduated from Wortham High School in 1974. He was the first black "Mr. Wortham High". While in high school he was active in the shot put and discus throw. He also played football and earned a full scholarship to Texas Christian University.
Lynn worked as a City PND for ABF Freight for many years, where he received countless awards and accolades for safety and service excellence. He retired a couple of years ago.
He married Kathy Maria Hopkin in 1986 and they had two daughters. He always looked forward to family reunions and would arrive days in advance to prepare for the gathering.
Survivors include his daughters; Dr. Rachael Yvonne Davis (Ma) and Marilyn Alexandria Joyce Davis; ex-wife Kathy Davis; brothers: Joe David Davis, Raymond Kal Davis, Charlie Mack Davis, Lawrence Karl Davis and his wife, Myrtle, Clint Maxwell Davis and his wife, Jackie, Leonard Davis and his wife, Amanda, George Chambers and his wife, Linda, David Chambers and his wife, Gina, and Timothy Gordon; sisters: Dorothy Marie Collins, Janice Marie Davis, Linda Knight, Peggy Wideman and her husband, Dennis, Donna Love, Betty Macklin, Shandra Horn and her husband, David, Gloria Nell Johnson and her husband, Tommy; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
