Former banker and investment counselor, and former President of the Hall Lithographing Company of Topeka, Clarence A.Severin was born at Bendena, Doniphan County, Kansas,October 12,1902,son of John P.and Mary A.(Wanstreet)Severin.

His father operated a general merchandise store and an elevator at Bendena, and dealt in livestock.

Clarence Severin attended the Bendena grade and high schools,was graduated from business college in 1920,and became a teller for the Farmers State Bank at Wathena, Kan. Later he was assistant cashier of the Farmers Reserve State Bank at St.Marys, Kan.
In 1928 he moved to Atchison Kan.,and entered the investment business business as a salesman for the Central Trust Co. of Topeka nd the Chase Securities Co. of New York. From 1932 to 1936 he operated his own business as an investment counselor.

Coming to Topeka April 20,1936,Mr.Severin became treasurer and general manager of the Hall Lithographing Company and treasurer of the Hall Stationery company, but returned to Atchison October 6,1941,as treasurer of the Locomotive Finished Material Co.there. On June 1,1941, as he again became treasure and general manager of the Hall Lithographing Company and treasurer of the Hall Stationery Company, and moved his family back to Topeka. On January 1,1945,he became president of both firms, and a director of the Hall Stationery Company. In September,1956,he severed all connections with the Hall organization and retired when the firms were sold.

Mr.Severin also is president of Ray's Printing Service,Inc.,of Topeka;a director of the Merchants National Bank, the Yellow Cab & Baggage Co.,and Kansas Free Fair Association; a Director of the Printing Industry of America, a member of the National Association of Photo Lithographers and the National Stationers Association. He is a member of the Kansas State Chamber of Commerce, Topeka Chamber of Commerce, Topeka Rotary Club, Topeka Council No.534, Knights of Columbus, and the Holy Name parish of the Catholic Church.

He was married June 1,1927, to Rose E.Boos of Atchison, Kan. They have a son, Clarence A.Severin,Jr.,age 27, now executive vice president of the Hall Lithographing Co.;and three daughters, Rose Marie(Mrs.Edward Lallo),age 28; Julia Ann(Mrs.Richard Huerter),age 26; and Doris E.(Mrs.Cletus B.Uhing),age 24, now teaching mathematics at Creighton University, Omaha, Neb.
