By 1900, Samuel owned their farmhouse free of mortgage as well as the acreage surrounding it, which he continued to farm as long as he was able. Polly and Sam were blessed with (9) children, whom they raised and nurtured in farm county.
October 31st of 1918, Polly died of valvular heart disease . . . just 6 days prior to her 88th birthday! I'd say, her dear heart did a fine job for a very long time . . . .
Polly was laid to rest in the Miller Cemetery in Knox County, on the 1st of November, where the love of her life, Sammy, joined her in 1929 at age 94. (jgk)
