Bertha Dora Louise Langhorst Davidson Jones, 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior March 20, 2021. Born June 1, 1922 to Sophie Koch Langhorst and Fred "Fritz" Langhorst, "Bert" was full of life and love right up to her departure from her earthly home. She had a huge heart, even for such a tiny person, and was so giving of her time to help others.

Her best accomplishments were those of wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Bert enjoyed life. She was always upbeat and never complained about anything. Whenever adversity came her way, she would always say "it will be alright". She met her high school sweetheart, Don Davidson, her sophomore year at Southport High School. Two years after graduation, they were married and raised a family for nearly 50 years. Don predeceased her in 1991. She then married Bill Jones and shared 5 wonderful years with him. He predeceased her in 1997. In 1999 Bert's life was once again blessed with a friend and companion, Bob Yeager. They spent over 10 years together, before his death, just enjoying each other's company. Bert's life was full of so many wonderful gentlemen. Our family is so thankful for each of them and how they touched her life and made it so full of love.

Bert was a very competitive game player. She loved bridge and on Friday nights at Greenwood Village you would no doubt find her engaged in a game of Rummikub. She enjoyed winning for sure, but also was a gracious loser. She also enjoyed golfing and enjoyed spending weeks at a time fishing on Lake of the Woods in Canada with family and friends. Even the outhouse at the cottage was named in her honor as "Bert's Place". She was a fabulous cook and one of her specialties was cinnamon apples and chocolate Sunday pie that she made every Thanksgiving and Christmas. She loved watching sports and was an avid IU basketball fan and never missed watching a Pacers ballgame.

Bert was one of five children. Brothers, Wilbert and Walt , and her sister, Florence, predeceased her. She has a "baby" sister, Caroline Jones, who still survives.

Bert has two children, Larry (Marcia) Davidson, and Debbie (Dan) Hillenburg. She had 3 grandchildren, Ted (Ashely) Davidson, Ben (Kristyn) Davidson, and John (Laura) Hillenburg, and 5 great-grandchildren, Reid and Remy Davidson, Miles and Banks Davidson, and Madeleine Hillenburg. Her family was her sunshine of life and she was so proud of each of them.

Bert was a Christian woman all of her adult life. She was a faithful member of Southport Presbyterian Church. Her faith was important to her and she lived her life displaying those Christian values. God has certainly welcomed an angel into her eternal home.

A private family service will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Southport Presbyterian Church, 7525 McFarland Blvd., Indianapolis, IN 46237 in memory of Bert Davidson Jones.
