Jennifer (Zaugg) Jensen came dancing into our lives on Saturday, 10 March 1973. Her laughter and smile, her singing and dancing, the way she lived each day, were always big and expansive, full volume and beautiful. Born in Virginia, she moved to Bountiful, Utah with her family when she was just four months old, and lived there until five years ago, when her family moved to Reno, Nevada.

After attending Utah State University, Jen served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Argentina. There, she worked hard, loved everyone she met and enhanced her ongoing love of the Savior and His Gospel. Returning, she met another Argentine missionary, Aric A. Jensen, and they soon married. Three children blessed their marriage and Jen involved her family in many adventures.

Jen graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Utah. Eventually, she earned her Masters' of Education degree from Western Governor's. She took a job teaching for the Honors Academy of Literature in Reno, Nevada until last year when Jen got her dream job as a librarian, where she served enthusiastically and courageously through the six months of her cancer, and was named Teacher of the Year.

Jen was famous for her beautiful singing voice, hearty laugh, helping everyone feel they are loved, valued and that they can do it (!), having more energy than any ten people, creativity and problem-solving skills; and facing even very difficult circumstances with courage and her trademark bright-as-the-sun smile.

Jen loved the color orange, the zoo, books and ideas, dancing—and the music that moves her, creating—art, music, costumes, quilts, stories, and worlds; people, serving, her fun, creative and loving family, the Lord, and the brilliant love and life He gave her.

Jen left this world from Reno, Nevada on Sunday, 20 March 2021, but she has not left our hearts. Left to cherish her memory are Jen's husband, Aric A. Jensen, their children, Elizabeth G. Jensen and Matthew D. Jensen, both of Reno and Emily C. Jensen, of Ogden, Utah; parents, Mark M. and Carolyn (White) Zaugg, of North Salt Lake, Utah; siblings, Andrew (Laura) Zaugg, of Bountiful; John (Amber) Zaugg, of Tucson, Arizona; Nathan (Melia) Zaugg, Farmington, Utah; Rebekah (Dan) Chatterley, Seoul, Korea; and Robert (Amanda) Zaugg, South Jordan, Utah. Also surviving Jen are her siblings-in-law, Bram Jensen, of Park City, Utah; David (Bernarda) Jensen, of Westlake Village, California; and Christian Jensen (Michael Tsai), of Beijing, China; twenty-six nephews and nieces, a host of extended family members, plus hundreds of students and friends who have had the Sunshine that is Jen in their lives.
