Byron Lynn "Big Joe" Johnson, 38 of Amarillo, formerly of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at noon on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Byron was born on March 13, 1983 to Karen Clardy and Craig Williams in Plainview, Texas. He was the first nephew born into the Johnson~Carter family. Byron was an amazing young man that stood up when he needed to. Not only was he an amazing young man but an amazing BIG brother, father, and the world's greatest uncle. When Byron loved he loved hard, when he played, he played to win and when he came to battle, he threw the first punch! Byron was not one to ask for much, but he was always willing to give his all even if it was his last. Byron had a smile that would light up the room, and Lord, when he laughed you could not help but to laugh with him! Byron touched so many lives in so many ways that I cannot begin to name them all. So, if you knew him as a favorite cousin as Fanti Hill did or as a stepson as Clifford Clardy did or as his only living grandmother (Virginia Alexander) did that you knew someone special. He will forever be cherished, loved, and missed by the Johnson, Carter, Clardy families and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

He leaves behind so many cherished and precious memories. His devoted partner LaWona Pearson; four daughters: Dwaylyn, Corina, Ka'Brea and Khalia; mother-inlaw: Mrs. Ossie; two brothers-in-law: David and Heath.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandmothers: Alma Ruth Johnson and Louise Williams; grandpa Herman Lee Williams; brother: Brandon Irvin Dunlap; cousin: Kashawa LaShell Carter.

He leaves behind his brother: Blaketon Clardy; sister: Kim Clardy, a family of cousins, nieces and nephews: Louis Mathes, Scooter Woods, Trudy Taylor, Cassius Carter, Jaman Johnson, and a host of extended family and friends.
