He was appointed to the Manteca Planning Commission in 1965. Stoke was a past president and organizer of the Senior Citizen's Sunshine Club and a past president of the Manteca Lions Club. He also was a charter member of the Manteca Rotary Club and a past board member of the Stockton Trade Club. Lodge affiliations include San Joaquin Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite.
Stoker is survived by his wife, Gladys; a son, Dean Stoker of Manteca; two step-children, Jerry Elliott of Stockton and Jeanne Lima of Vernalis; a brother, Will Stoker of Hayward; a sister, Clara Athey of Chico; two grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and eight step great-grandchildren.
