Milton Andrew Jenkins, 101, Columbus, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr. Jenkins was a member of Kurtz Nazarene Church. He was a stonemason and also an instructor at Indiana Boys School. Born March 29, 1908, in Bedford, he was the son of Frank and Martha Anna Dowling Jenkins, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Lillian Chambers on Sept. 19, 1935, and she preceded him in death in 1976. He married Vera Visco in 1977, and she survives in California. Other survivors include two sons, Alan (Tillie) Jenkins, Houston, Texas, and Larry (Sharon) Jenkins, Bloomington; one daughter, Bonnie (Max) Boas, Columbus; three stepsons, Fred Lyons, Ed Lyons and Ron Lyons, all of California; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Nelson; one brother, Frank Jenkins; and two sisters, Mary Chastain and Minnie Jenkins. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Kurtz Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Kurtz Nazarene Church or Kurtz Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown.
