Our beautiful, gracious mother, grandmother and friend, passed on to the loving arms of her precious son Randy. Faye suffered deeply from the loss of Randy in 2002. Faye was born to Lilly O. and Allen N. Reed on January 23, 1931 in Salt Lake City. She was raised by her mother and stepfather Carl L. Wahlen (Von) who all preceded her in death. Faye married Rod W. Cushing, Jr. on June 1, 1950, later divorced, but remained friends.
Faye was a cancer survivor and spoke out as an advocate for women with breast cancer. Faye retired from US West Direct Yellow pages, and was a recipient of many sales awards. She loved life, and was blessed with many talents. Her life was full of activity, cooking, craftwork, and her lovely crocheting, which she shared with family; each grandchild had afghans and several baby sweater sets. Faye was a member of the LDS Church and was active in her community.
Faye loved to travel and did so in many areas. She found great contentment in Mazatlan, Mexico. She and several friends traveled there every March for the entire month. Her traveling came to an end in 2005 when she went through a devastating experience by having several life threatening surgeries. Since then Faye has been in constant pain. You are now out of pain Mom; rest in piece.
Survivors are son Rod R. Cushing (Deborah), daughter Rochelle and a very special daughter-in-law, Pam. Five grandchildren, Jason, Brett, Heather, Candace and Casey. Eight great-grandchildren, also surviving is her special puppy "Tiny" whom she had a special love for. We want to give our love and thanks to Ruth Jackson of first Choice Health care, for giving our Mom love and tender care for the past two and one half years.
At Mom's request, there will not be Funeral Services. Graveside Services will be Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street.
