MARCH 20, 1939 – JANUARY 30, 2021

Donna went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2021 in Athens, Texas. She was born on March 20, 1939 in Collin County to James Alford Benson and Mauda Aliene Hatfield Benson.

Donna grew up in Wylie, Texas. She spent many years as the caregiver for several different family members. Donna was a Christian by faith and would have conversations with the Lord. Her walk with God was strong and faithful. She often said she had a wonderful life especially after marrying Charles Sims on October 11, 1990. Life with him was some of the best years of her life. She enjoyed traveling and shopping. She used to love to work her flower beds, later her favorite past time was watching Wheel of Fortune, doing word searches and listening to gospel music. Donna was passionate about animals, especially her cats. Donna has left an empty space in the hearts of all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mauda Benson.

Donna is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Lee Sims; children, Sandra Jennings, Shannon Lynnette Haywood and Ronald Max Hamilton Jr.; many other family and friends.
