My aunt Jean was an amazing lady. She was a bit of a bohemian but she was a class act. She loved art and music and mostly theatre. She worked for Year Book Encyclopedia in Chicago for many years, and earned a scholarship for her daughter Sandra through them. She became a seamstress in later years taking after her mother, and sewed for a theatrical school in Traverse City, Michigan. She then retired and moved to Florida to be near her daughter Diane (Dee) and son Craig (who passed in 2018) It was in 2014 while I was in Florida visiting her that she told me she had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, eventually she went to live with her daughter Dee who took care of her in her home until she died. Her ashes are on Dee and Mike Blaha's property in a memorial section on the land in Masaryktown. Aunt Jean was always so creative and loved her children and grandchildren. She made costumes for them and for herself too and became the resident Easter Bunny and Santa Claus for many years. Jean will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her. She is sorely missed by many.
