“ Having a soft heart in a cruel world is courage, not weakness” - David (Facebook)

The family of David Barry Plunkett (age 56) announces with deep sadness the sudden passing of this business owner, world traveler, music lover, Hawaii enthusiast, dog owner and Linda Lavin Super Fan. While working as a Sales Representative for Nationwide Papers, David realized a passion for the printing industry which led to managing a Kinko’s Store in Denver, CO, and later co-owning Rockies Printing. Led by a vision that a business should have high standards and morals, he eventually launched his own printing company, Integrity Print Group. His knowledge and trustworthy approach to business solidified the company as a printing leader, with lifelong clients who often became good friends.

“Life is like a lottery- if you don’t play you can’t win”- David (Facebook)

David’s heart was larger than his “big kid” personality. His genuine smile and sense of humor left a lasting impression when meeting new people. His fascination with different cultures, religions and ideas led to a passion for travel. His many adventures took him from the US to Sydney, London, Paris and Fiji. He particularly loved the Hawaiian Islands, refusing to saying goodbye to Hawaii. A hui hou – until we meet again.

"Kindness: It's contagious but worth spreading"- David (Facebook)

He had a strong devotion and commitment to his Christian faith, which led to founding Open Door Community Church in Denver, CO. The church would later merge with Denver First Baptist, where David served many leadership roles. It was in these roles that David continued to demonstrate his genuine kindness, generosity and commitment to helping others. David is survived by his family Woodrow and Jackie Plunkett; Daniel Plunkett; and Austin Plunkett. A private family funeral will be held at Chapelwood Memorial Garden in Texarkana, TX under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown. A memorial service and picnic reception will be planned in the summer in Denver, CO. In lieu of flowers and/or gifts please donate to the David Plunkett Memorial Fund on GOFUNDME.COM. These funds will be used to continue David’s humanitarian commitments and interests, which include financial support of a Fijian Christian church and its local families. Online tributes can be posted at www.eastfuneralhomes.com.
