March 6, 2003 - March 12, 2021

EDWARDS,Colby Allen, age 17, from Boring, Oregon passed away Friday, March 12,2021. Colby was born on Saturday, September 6,2003 in Gresham, Oregon to his loving parents Roger and Debbie Edwards. That day Colby would then become the younger brother of two siblings, Tayler and Emily Edwards.

Colby was an 11th year, Junior at Sandy Union High School, but was set to graduate early in 2021. He was a graduate of the National Guard funded program, Oregon Youth Challenge Program (OYCP), Class 59, 2020-1.

Colby had many talents and focused studiously on the topics he enjoyed. He loved to learn about the military, and history. He had a fascination with nature. He enjoyed hunting, camping in the woods or backyard, playing video games, kayaking, and running marathons with his mother, Debbie. Colby and his friends would go on camping and hunting trips for days at a time, and trips with family. He sparked up the joy for hunting. Colby brought home his first deer from Mt Hood National Forest September 30th, 2019 and it is one of his fondest memories. The outdoors made him feel free and he liked looking over large horizons.

He loved collecting items with sentimental value and picked up anything that sparked his curiosity. Colby was an individual who valued the history of things, and wanted to understand the deeper meaning behind them. In the early years Colby was interested in rocks and how they are formed. He would spend time laying them out, and was very proud of his 8-pound piece of obsidian. He wanted to understand the different structures for things, the why, the how, and the what's next.

Colby lives on through his mother and father Roger and Debbie Edwards, his siblings Tayler and Emily Edwards, his supportive and loving extended family, and through his closest friends, Alex Mills, Cayden Bithell, Zeek Gregory, Devon Lehr, Trevor Klien, Mika Parmeter, Wesley Newman, and Travis James. A private viewing was held for the Edwards' family Wednesday, March 17th, 2021 at the Sandy Funeral Home. Private funeral Services will be held at 2pm Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 at the Willamette National Cemetery and to be followed with the burial. Saturday, March 27th, 2021 the Edwards' family will be having an open house for friends and family to stop by and celebrate the life of the beloved Colby Allen Edwards. Doors will be open from 12pm - 3pm for friends and family at their home 27115 SE Meier Lane, Boring, OR, 97009.
