Mr. Thiele was born March 4, 1890, in Neider, Germany. He came with his parents as a small boy to Minnesota. He received his schooling in Oakland, Iowa. On Sept. 4, 1918, he married Anna Kroger at Flandreau. The couple farmed in the Colman vicinity until 1932 when they moved into Colman.
Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Leo Heinricy and Mrs. Kenneth Croon, both of Colman, and Mrs. Vernon Beck, Madison; three sons, Leo, Dell Rapids; Lloyd, Colman, and Mahlon, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Bakkedahl, Colman, and Mrs. Hilda Gable, Isanti, Minn,: 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
