Pamela Gwen Carter, age 62 of Seymour, gained her Heavenly wings on Friday March 19, 2021. She was a faithful and loving wife and mother. Pamela was a member of Island Home Baptist Church. She was a CNA for 20 years, working at Baptist Hospital, St. Mary’s, and Tennova North. Pamela was quick witted, loved to cook, and trying new recipes. She loved her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, H.L. and Hazel (Tootsie) Johnson.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years Larry W. Carter; daughter, Kheri Parrott and husband Josh; stepson Brian Carter; grandchildren Lilly, Olivia, Kaleb, and Kaden Parrott; sisters Donna Johnson, Vicki Hancock and husband Jerry; brothers-in-law: Joe and wife Brenda, Phil, and Jerry Carter; sister-in-law Teresa Carter; extended family and friends, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, who she loved dearly. Special thank you to her caregiver Michelle who took care of her every need. Thank you to Amedisys Home Health and Hospice.

Friends may come at their convenience 12-4 PM Tuesday. Although there will not be a receiving line, family and friends may pay their respects from 5-7 PM Tuesday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7 PM with Rev. Chris Gardner officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Wednesday at Boyd’s Creek Cemetery with Bill Laxton officiating.
