GEORGE E. SIMPSON
DURHAMVILLE -- George E. Simpson, 61, of Canal St., a retired employee of General Cable Corp., Syracuse, and the Stickley Furniture Factory, in Eastwood, died yesterday in Oneida City Hospital.
He was born in the town of Pittsfield, son of William H. and Anna A. Sherman Simpson. He had been a resident of Durhamville for 29 years. He retired in 1953. Mr. Simpson was a member of the Durhamville Fire Department.
Besides his wife, the former Gladys E. McClellan, he leaves two sons, Donald E. of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Gordon E., of Durhamville, a daughter, Mrs. Robert Skinner, at home; two brothers, Lyle and Sidney Simpson, both of Durhamville; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Wardle, of Oneida and Miss Mabel Simpson of Durhamville.
The funeral will be at 1 Saturday from the Campbell- Dean Funeral Home, Oneida, with the Rev. Lawrence Allen, pastor of the Durhamville Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tomorrow.
