Born in High Point, N.C. in 1952; Robert was the son of the late William Carl Everts and Patricia deForrest Sweetman Everts.
He grew up in New Berlin, N.Y. and later moved to the Niagara Falls area before finding his home in Troy for the last 20 years.
A proud Vietnam Veteran, Robert served his country honorably as a radio operator and as an EOD specialist in the U.S. Army.
For his service in Vietnam, Robert was awarded with numerous commendations and medals, including the Bronze Star.
Most recently employed as a professional driver, Robert happily spent much of his career in sales prior to his retirement.
An avid photographer, Robert captured life through a lens while he enjoyed time with his friends and family. As a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, dog lover, and hiker, he could always be found enjoying the outdoors on a new adventure.
Survived by his son, Trevor (Lindsey Sweeney) Everts of Albany, his fiancee, Leslie Brussel-Smith of Troy, and her children, Danielle Swentonic, Elizabeth Brussel-Smith and David Brussel-Smith; and seven grandchildren; his siblings, Patricia Everts, James Everts, Thomas Everts, Andrew (Peggy) Everts and Judith Everts; five nieces and nephews; Teresa Norfolk; and Charlie.
Interment will be in Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
