Michael J. Dunkel, age 54, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 2:38 a.m. on Friday, March 19, 2021, at the home of his mother surrounded by family. Mike was born in Jasper, Indiana, on September 12, 1966, to Charles and Patricia (Fehribach) Dunkel.

Mike was a 1985 graduate of Crawford County High School. He was employed at MasterBrand Cabinets. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and spending time fishing and entertaining at his cabin on Idlewild Lake. He really enjoyed martial arts and was a fifth degree black belt in Tai Chi. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Huntingburg.

Surviving are his mother Pat Dunkel, Jasper, IN, his father Charles Dunkel, English, IN, two brothers, Randy Dunkel and Mark Dunkel, both of Jasper, IN, one sister Mary (Todd) Blake, Indianapolis, IN, three nieces, Kelsey Blake, Chicago, IL, and Kendall and Kamryn Blake, both of Indianapolis, IN, and his companion, Diana Gilbert, Huntingburg, IN.

A funeral service for Michael J. Dunkel will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Enlow City Cemetery in Jasper. Fr. John Boeglin will officiate. A visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and then from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Masks and social distancing will be required for the visitation and service.
