Son of Russell Louis and Jewel (Harbin) Sanders.

Doug attended Ray High School and moved to Morgan City, Louisiana, about six months prior to his death. While working on a drilling barge, he accidentally drowned. His father was living in Morgan City at that time. Doug was the husband of Linda and the brother of Russell Louis Sanders and Bruce Sanders.
