Doris was born on July 12, 1923, in Corydon, Iowa. She was the seventh daughter of Mary and Otis Stark. She married J.E. Cleeton in 1941. They were married for 52 years and had three children: John Cleeton, Carole Nordgren and Cathy Townsend.

Doris was deeply devoted to her family. She was the centerpiece of countless family gatherings and celebrations. Her delicious recipes continue to be passed along to current and future generations. Along with her recipes, she passed on many skills to her family such as crocheting, knitting, and board games. She even took the time to lovingly crochet a blanket for every new family member when they were born.

She was an avid gardener and had a beautiful flower garden every year. She incorporated vegetables from her garden into her cooking. She enjoyed hosting Wednesday night family dinners for many years where family would join her for dinner and enjoy one another's company.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, and hiking with her husband and children in her younger years. They loved to visit Colorado and State Parks in Nebraska and Iowa. She loved sharing stories of her outdoor adventures, instilling the same love of nature in the whole family.

Children: John (Connie), Carole (Dave) & Cathy (Ron)
Granddaughters: Lori, Carrie, Kim, Marcie, Jennifer, Julie, and Christie
Great-grandchildren: Haleigh, Leah, Ethan, Emily, Kendall, Kayden, Carter, Camren, Easton, Everleigh, and one more great-grandson on the way.
