Wedding bells quickly rang for the happy couple on the afternoon of Thursday, October 18, 1951 in Lancaster, PA. They were married at Church of Our Father Unitarian by Harvey Swanson and took their sacred wedding vows in the presence of 125 close friends & family members.

In addition to his wonderful wife, Elaine, Wendell is survived by his three sons: W. Tim White, Jeffrey A. White & Richard C. White, his daughter in-law Lisa A. White and seven of his eight grandchildren, Matthew, Kaitlyn & Jenna; Rachel,Tina & Laura; and Olivia. He is also survived by five great grandchildren, Blake, Joshua, Oscar, Haley & Iris. Wendell was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved grandson, Brett Alexander White.

Wendell graduated in 1941 from William Penn Senior High School located in York, PA. He enlisted in the United States Maritime Service on December 14, 1942 and served on active duty during the Second World War (WW II). He was stationed on Gallups Island, located out in Boston Harbor on the seaward side of the submarine nets, in Boston, MA until being honorably discharged on November 16, 1945. Wendell's rank at the time of his discharge was Petty Officer First Class, and his main duties were as a Carpenter & Painter. He was also a member of the Gallups Island firefighting squad and had the honored duty of being the fire hose "nozzleman".

After receiving his honorable discharge at the conclusion of the war, Wendell continued his education by attending: The University of Phoenix, York Junior College and also Franklin & Marshall College. He then established and operated his own business, E.T.F. Business Systems, which designed & manufactured Envelopes, Forms & Tags for businesses within the Central PA area.

Besides loving & supporting his family, Wendell had many interests & hobbies which included: being both an accomplished violin & viola musician, ballroom dancing, gourmet cooking, photography, astronomy, painting various types of ceramics and musical volunteer work. His love affair with orchestra music started when he was young after finishing his very first violin lesson. It was then that he decided to dedicate his time & energy to developing the skills required to play both the violin & viola. He enjoyed playing on a regular basis until he was in his early 90's. During his musical career, Wendell played both his violin & viola with numerous local orchestras, including The York Symphony Orchestra and The Zembo String Band. Throughout his lifetime, Wendell's all-time personal favorite piece of music was always: "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life" by Victor Herbert.

Wendell was a proud & honored 32nd degree, 70+year member of his local Zeredatha Masonic Lodge #451 and also enjoyed long-term memberships in The York Tall Cedars, Harrisburg Consistory and The Harrisburg Zembo String Band.

The White Family would like to thank the staff and employees of Memorial White Rose Home Health & Hospice for their support, kindness and many consultations.
