Dustin Michael Wood, age 38, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2021 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on May 22, 1982, the son of John Herman Wood and Tonda (Bradley) Dingledine. Dustin worked as a Union Carpenter for many years, assisting with many major projects, including The James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State and the new Donnelsville School. He enjoyed camping with his family and would stop at nothing to see something interesting in nature. Dustin was also an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan. In the last few months, Dustin learned to make custom speaker boxes, which quickly became a passion of his, along with other various types of woodworking. Survivors include his mother, Tonda (Sonny) Dingledine; the love of his life for 21 years, Lyndsey Jo Bayes; four children, Kaylee Nicole Wood, Michael Eugene Wood, Devin Tyler Wood and Isaac Michael Wood; one brother, Jeremy Jon (Carol) Wood; grandmother, Michelle J. Frost; special uncles, Shane and Russell Streeter and Shawn Ramsey; special aunt, Cris Ramsey, along with his best friend and cousin, Derek Ramsey, as well as several other aunts, uncles and cousins. Dustin was preceded in death by his father, John Herman Wood; great-nephew, Calen Jacob Wood; aunt, Tabatha Lynn Gamble and cousin, Corby Lee Cunningham. Dustin will be remembered and missed by all. He will live on through the gift of organ donation. Friends and family may gather on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 12:30-1:30pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where a celebration of Dustin’s life will begin at 1:30. Dustin will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Burial Park
