Violet Mae Lindquist, 91, of Hayward, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the Hayward Nursing Home.

She was born May 13, 1912, in Duluth, the daughter of Frank and Blenda (Johnson) Hartz. She moved with her family to Exeland where she grew up. She married John Lindquist on June 8, 1933, in Exeland. The couple moved to Cudahy, Wis., where they lived until moving to Hayward in 1948. Violet worked at Dunster's Department Store and the Hayward Bakery and was member of the First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting.

Survivors include a son, John Jr. of Monona, Wis.; a daughter, Marlys (Ronald) Olson of San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Sampson of Exeland and Georgie Weigert of St. Paul, Minn; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband John Sr. in 1996; two brothers, Fred and Edward Hartz; and two sisters, Edna Debuhr and Alice Bissonette.

Funeral: Services were conducted on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Anderson-Nathan Funeral Home in Hayward with the Rev. Carl Bruihler officiating.

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery.
