James was born November 25, 1952, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Leroy and Mildred Wilkerson Collier. He was also preceded in death by a sister, MaryAnn Collier, and a brother, Tommy Collier. James married Jacquelyn Brown of Abbeville, in 1976, and were happily married for 45 years. He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed hunting for the “Big Buck” and fishing with family and friends. One of his favorite things to do was play with his grandchildren.
James is survived by his spouse, Jacquelyn of Abbeville; his children, Jimmy Collier (Rebecca) of Abbeville, Scotty Collier, and Jackie Collier, both of Abbeville; a brother, Lee Collier of Abbeville; a sister, Ruby Lee “Margie” Reddish (Hugh) of Ludowici; his grandchildren, Logan Collier (Shaylee) of McRae, Tyler Collier, and Ayden Collier both of Abbeville; and his nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, March 21st, at 3:00 P.M. in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy 129 South, Abbeville, GA, with Rev. Tim Moorhouse, Rev. Chuck Taylor, and Rev. Bryan Luke officiating.
