Joseph A. Schultz, Sr. 1937 - 2021
CHERRY VALLEY - Joseph A. Schultz, Sr., 83, passed away peacefully March 8, 2021, with loving family by his side.
Born June 28, 1937, to the late Gilbert and Mary Schultz of Richfield Springs. Known for his sense of humor and infectious laugh, Joe enjoyed driving stock cars and roller skating in his younger years. He was a dairy farmer in Mohawk for many years, before opening the Rock-N-Roller Skating Arena located in Herkimer. He also drove dump trucks in NY and PA. The last 20 years, he has owned Papa Joe's Pizzeria, a favorite of many in the Fort Plain area.
Joe is survived by his son, Joseph A. Schultz, Jr. and wife, Carol; his daughter, Michelle M. Schultz; and a sister, Barbara (Schultz) Miklic and husband, Rick; granddaughters, Victoria M. Schultz, Amanda Busch and Ashley Busch; and great-grandson, Daniel Busch-Daly; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years, Charlotte; and ten brothers and three sisters.
A gathering in his honor will be announced at a date to be determined.
