Robert Lee “Bob” Drake, 45, of Farwell and formerly of Hillsdale, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at his home. He was born June 28, 1975 in Albion to Daryl Drake and Debra (Teller) Christian.
Bob graduated from Jonesville High School in 1993 and received his Bachelor and Master’s Degree from Grand Valley State University. He was formerly employed as the guidance counselor at Jonesville High School and most recently at Wellspring Lutheran Services as a Counselor in Farwell. He loved golfing, boating and downhill skiing. Bob’s greatest pride was being a loving father to his daughter, Elizabeth.
Surviving besides his daughter, Elizabeth is his former wife, Kathy Drake; mother, Debra Christian; sisters, Becky Briggs and Shelly (Ron) Scheetz; niece, Carrie Rogers; and aunts and uncles, Deb (John) Griffiths, Dan (Cindy) Drake, Diane (Ron) Cooley, and Doug (Deb) Teller; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daryl Drake; paternal grandparents, J.C. & Patricia Drake; maternal grandparents, Don & Ruth Teller; and brother-in-law, Darrin Briggs.
Visitation for Robert “Bob” Drake will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 from 4-8 PM at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Private funeral services will be held with burial at Mosherville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bob’s daughter, Elizabeth for an educational fund.
