Paul Sherman Harvey, 87, of Oakland, MD, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021, at Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Oakland.

Born November 10, 1933, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Herbert Paul and Eva Lena (Thompson) Harvey. He was also preceded in death by one son, Sherman Richard Harvey; two sisters, Louise White, and Eileen Steyer.

Paul's school years were spent at the Loch Lynn school. His dedication to farming led his father to hire an attorney to allow Paul to quit school and work on the family farm. Paul became a self-employed farmer and raised dairy and beef cattle, sheep and crops on his farm. Paul enjoyed farming with his son's up until 1992 when his barn burned. He would then watch his son's farm out the window or while sitting on his porch. Paul was a member of the Mt. Lake Independent Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years on the 30th of this month, Mildred Victoria (Beckman) Harvey; two sons, Simon Herbert Harvey and wife, Anna, Anmoore, WV; Stuart Isaac Harvey and wife, Melissa, Oakland; five grandchildren, Garrett Daniel, Kyle Dominick, Rachel Louise, Ranae Eileen, Isaac Warren Harvey; two great grandchildren, Tucker Thomas and Myla Grace Harvey.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, MD, 21550, on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at Mt. Lake Independent Baptist Church, 1005 Broadford Rd., Oakland, MD, 21550, on Monday, March 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dennis Leatherman officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment will be at the White Church Cemetery, Oakland.
