Obituary

Linda Michelle Raines, 64 years of age, of McLean, was called to her eternal home in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 18, 2021 in Amarillo at BSA Hospital. She was born on July 13, 1956 in Amarillo, Texas to John and Laura Eddleman.

Following several necessary relocations to maintain her employment, Linda made her final move to McLean in 1995 where she raised her kids and eventually met her kindred spirit, Kenneth Raines. They were married on May 21, 2005 and remained each other’s rock for almost 16 years. Linda carried a very adventurous spirit about herself and to explain her as diversified would be an understatement. She was the embodiment of a good ol’ southern grandma-right down to the cast iron skillets! She was extremely family oriented and took her role as housewife seriously. She was sure to keep tabs on each and every one of the kids and grandkids alike. She definitely kept all her ducks in a row. Linda enjoyed working on her computer, crocheting, fishing (even though she wouldn’t touch the bait or fish), drawing, researching genealogy, cryptozoology, and spoiling her dogs; however, her faith and precious family were always her number one priority. Not one to be short on talents, Linda was also a writer and wrote seven books in the past ten years. Linda was a dreamer with a happy demeanor and a contagious laugh, and she will be terribly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Those who were waiting for her to walk through the golden gates are her parents as well a brother, Randall Eddleman.

Linda has left behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Kenneth Raines of McLean; three sons, Jacob Lee Eddleman of Pampa, Keith Winfield Raines of Borger, Anthony Garrett Ruiz and wife Erika of Pampa; two daughters, Laura Frances Johnson of McLean, Lindsey Nicole Moore and husband John of Pampa, and four grandchildren, Jacqueline Altis, Jade Soliz, Jace Ruiz and Drayden Smith.

Celebration of Life Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Monday, March 22, 2021 at One Way Baptist Church in McLean with Pastor Thacker Haynes of United Methodist Church of McLean officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Hillcrest Cemetery of McLean. Pallbearers will be Jacob Eddleman, Keith Raines, Anthony Ruiz, John Moore, Gene Joyce and Mitchell Carroll. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.

Should you wish to make a donation in memory of Linda, the family suggests they be made to the McLean Care Center, 605 W. 7th Street, McLean, TX 79057.
